Staircase StudyI spent some time studying staircase codes and drawing different types of staircases. It turns out there are a whole bunch of building codes for just stairs. There are requirements on height, railings, step size, and more. This study helped me gain a better understanding and appreciation for building codes. I have also spent some time reading building codes and fire codes (don't ask) to figure out how a building should be secured and safe. The fact I read a building code for my state says too much about me.

Door StudySimilar to the staircase study, this is a door study, and I really didn't find doors to be interesting because they only serve as a divider between rooms and keep annoying younger siblings out. However, after going through various door designs and studying them a little more, I found an appreciation with doors. This is a general study of a door, so I didn't focus on the different sizes of doors and the specific uses. When I do another door study, I plan to compare sizes and the specific use a different sized door has.
